Cell Paintings
These heirloom quality pieces are produced with Liquitex and/or Amsterdam paints on canvas. Cells are created by adding miniscule drops of silicone to the paint causing it to break surface tension and create movement within the layers. Once dried and cured for thirty days we coat the pieces in cornstarch for twenty four hours to remove any residual silicone. Then they are washed and dried. An isolation coat is then applied between the paint and three coats of varnish.
